Interesting article. My covid cope was taking CBD/THC gummies and tinctures to sleep. Never during the day but at night. 2020/2021 was a nightmare for my mental health. The pandemic was worse in California than most states. Then the BLM riots. Ugh. I stopped taking all my Covid copers in 2022 after becoming a Christian! Reading the Bible and leaving Twitter are my new copes!
I stopped drinking in 1997 after a car accident left me with nerve damage to my eye and permanent double vision. Alcohol was not the cause of the accident, but I became afraid if ever stopped while driving, they'd take one look at my wonky eye and assume I had been drinking (plus with double vision some of their tests don't work). Before you ask, I didn't drive for almost 3 years and still take vision therapy to learn how to compensate. So far so good, even have great auto insurance! My "bad habits" have been, and still are coffee and cigarettes. Oddly, during all the covid cr@p my coffee drinking went up slightly and smoking stayed the same, aprox. 1/2 a pack or 10 cigarettes, as it has been for the last 40 years. I worried that these 2 habits were part of my trouble with my teeth. Guess not, this past year my dentist asked if I had quit both since my teeth and gums were in better shape than they had ever been (I started with this dentist went I was 32 now 67). The best part is my "discovery" didn't cost a thing. In my covid boredom, I was brushing my teeth the usual 2 minutes with my Sonicare, and thought "why only 2 minutes?" It beeps every 1/2 minute, I zoned out and lost count, so restarted, and my teeth felt cleaner, so I kept it up for about 6 minutes. I now brush (no toothpaste) about 6-12 minutes every night. Change was so dramatic to my dentist, everyone in his office now telling patients to take up extra brushing. Good news is it works with just a regular toothbrush (need to brush a little Longer, NOT harder). A friend of mine can't stand the vibration, used regular brush and her last visit showed improvement. Good thing covid boredom didn't last longer, who knows what weird twist my bored mind would take next.

My Covid cope: door dash. I have spent far too much being lazy. I’m weaning myself off that!
