Today the House voted to allow new parents to vote-by-proxy and avoid having to travel to the nation’s capitol with children in tow for important House votes. The vote was prompted by repeated complaints by Democrats, specifically Rep. Brittany Petterson of Colorado. The new mother introduced the rule change after having to travel back to D.C. with her infant for House votes in the new administration.
Several Republicans crossed the aisle to back the measure.
