One of the most egregious examples I have ever seen of how government uses language to deceive voters and mask outrageous, destructive policies is California’s Safe Schools and Neighborhoods Act (2014).
What do you think of when you see that title? Assuming you know nothing about it, what kind of policies would you imagine are housed in that bill? Perhaps you are thinking it is a bill aimed at keeping sex offenders away from schools and residential areas, or increasing law enforcement. Maybe you’re thinking it creates a new government entity aimed at studying safety issues in and around public schools. Whatever details might be housed within the measure, the title at the very least assures us that it is all directed at making life safer for children and their families.
In fact, the Safe Schools and Neighborhoods Act is exactly the opposite. Many of you will know it by another name, the moniker that has been used by news outlets across the country when reporting on California’s frightening crime explosion - Prop 47. Far from being an act to increase safety, Prop 47 reduces many violent felonies to misdemeanors, reduces sentencing for violent offenders and facilitated the early release of tens of thousands of prisoners, many of whom were jailed for violent felonies. It’s also the very same law that makes it a misdemeanor to steal up to $950 in products PER DAY…theft has no consequences anymore. You’ve all seen the videos by now.
It is no coincidence California cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco are steeped in crime and stores are forced to lock up even the most basic of items like deodorant and dish soap. The chaos in this state is by design, and Californians voted for it, thinking they were voting for safety and protection.
Progressive policies are designed to destroy, and since most thinking human beings would never vote for their own destruction, their language is always couched in the language of “care.”
Remember that famous quote from The Gipper?
“The nine most terrifying words in the English language are ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”
The two most terrifying words to hear from progressives are, “We care.”
Progressive “care” is like Prop 47 - it means the exact opposite of what the term implies. Progressive care involves mutilation and destruction. It does nothing to build, it is only designed to maim and dismantle.
Let’s take “reproductive healthcare” for example. Doesn’t that sound so kind? What an innocuous expression. Reproducing is an important function of humanity. Of course we should be caring for the health of those doing the reproducing (that would be women, for those out there who may be confused about the basic concept of gender).
“Reproductive healthcare” has nothing to do with reproducing or care. It is the opposite. It’s only function is abortion. It is code for dismantling a baby in the womb, for ending a life and for enabling the suffering of not just the child, but the mother who will have to live with the ensuing grief and darkness that necessarily comes with such an act. It literally destroys. It is the opposite of care, but the language is deliberate.
Lately we’ve been hearing a lot about “transgender healthcare,” as if there is something different about the anatomy of a woman who thinks she is a man, or a man who thinks he is a woman; as if one’s psychological status transforms their biology into something that requires specialized medical care.
But what is “transgender healthcare?” Removed from the language of care, it is obvious it is the complete opposite of care for health. Caring for one’s health involves building - building muscles, resistance, immunity, strength, health. It involves healing. Transgender “healthcare” necessarily involves the mutilation of the human body. It arrests puberty and stops natural development. It saws off the healthy breasts of healthy women, and castrates healthy men. It requires men to have unnatural holes created in their genital areas, and because the human body is designed to heal itself in so many ways, their bodies struggle to heal the unnecessary wounds. This in turn means those who have consented to such mutilation must continuously defy their bodies by working against the healing process to keep the gaping wound open.
Such “healthcare” also destroys the reproductive process. It sterilizes its victims, and in turn eradicates an entire lineage. It quite literally kills the future. Trans healthcare is the destruction of the self, the destruction of creation itself. There is no care, only wounding, so much so that those wounds require a lifetime commitment to keeping them open.
Our Canadian neighbors love to tout their “universal healthcare” system as a superior form of care, but a few years ago the government added assisted suicide to their care system. They call it - unsurprisingly - Dying With Dignity. Sounds peaceful, but it is yet another example of progressive “healthcare” being wrought with ruin. It eschews the calling to heal for the calling to assist in destruction.
And as with any type of rot, the putrid hand of death did not stay confined to one area - terminal illness. Instead, it has spread and consumed the human condition. Now the Canadian government will help kill not just those fighting terminal illnesses, but those who are mentally ill, depressed, and feel their mental suffering can only be relieved by death. In fact, in order to preserve organs for donation, the Canadian government will come to the home of a Dying With Dignity patient, administer initial sedatives, and transport the patient to the hospital so their organs can be harvested immediately. They will then “complete the process” for said patient.
Being killed by the government that just harvested your organs sounds anything but dignified.
Why does progressive “care” always mean destruction? Because progressivism - which is of course rooted in Marxism - is anti-creation. It cannot thrive in a world that acknowledges the authority and power of a Creator. It cannot control if humans choose to recognize a higher power who has the ultimate control. It cannot sustain power if we humans live in a way that recognizes we are powerless, and God is all-powerful. It needs humans to be sick, afraid and hopeless. It needs us to hand over our free will to the state. It covets control, and to do that it must squash purpose.
Humans have always found purpose in faith and religion, but if we answer to the Highest Authority that means we do not answer to the state. That is unacceptable to the progressive cultists. Progressivism despises God and sees Him as what stands between them and personal satisfaction. Thus, every progressive action - no matter what deceptive name they give it - is nothing more than an attempt to thwart creation, and the Creator Himself.
We need no further proof. Progressivism is a disease that seeks to wound, not heal; destroy, not build; kill, not promote life. Whenever you hear a progressive use the word “care,” know that it is exactly the opposite.
And run the other way.
