CALIFORNIA ALERT: Sign This Petition To Save Girls Sports
Californians want a return to biological standards
I got an email from my friend Sophia Lorey this afternoon. Sophia is the host of the This Is a Woman podcast and Outreach Director for the California Family Council (CFC). Sophia has been working with CFC to pass legislation protecting girls in sports and to expose the current incursions of boys into girls athletics in California.
The email included a link to a petition urging the California Interscholastic Federation, which governs school sports in the state, to revise its current stance on biological boys in girls sports. I wanted to share it with you.
If you live in California, please sign this petition. If you don’t, please send this to friends and family who do, or just share it to your socials so more eyes can see it.
The tides are rising here in California. Our boats are lifting and the bureaucratic state is beginning to sink. Now is the time to get even louder.
Let’s double down.
From Sophia Lorey at the California Family Council:
Right now, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) allows males to compete in girls’ sports—a policy that endangers fairness, safety, and the very opportunities Title IX was designed to protect. This isn’t just wrong—it’s illegal.
This coming weekend, a male will compete in a CIF girls’ track and field event—he is currently 1st in GIRLS Long, High, and Triple Jump. This is exactly what we’ve warned about, and it’s happening right before our eyes.
Title IX is a federal civil rights law that guarantees equal athletic opportunities for girls. CIF - who is the governing body of HS sports in CA - claims it is following state law, but federal law takes precedence. By allowing males to compete in girls’ divisions, CIF is in direct violation of Title IX and the U.S. Constitution’s Supremacy Clause.
We’ve launched a petition urging CIF to revise its outdated 2013 gender identity policy (Bylaw 300 D) and adopt a biological sex-based standard—protecting every female athlete’s right to fair and safe competition.
Please take one minute to sign the petition today!
