An All-Female City Council Is a Disaster In the Making
Too many women in charge is a bad thing...seriously
The Twin City of St.Paul, Minnesota made history this week. Here’s the rundown from CBS News:
St. Paul made history on Tuesday with its newly minted all-women city council.
The seven-member body is all under the age of 40 and is racially diverse — a majority are women of color. Residents and other elected officials packed the Ordway Center downtown to celebrate the milestone and witness their swearing in.
It's a moment receiving national attention, too, as St. Paul is the first U.S. city of its size — with more 300,000 people living there —to have a city council made up of all women, according to the Center for Women and Politics at Rutgers University, which keeps track of women holding elected office at every level of government.
What I’m about to say is not going to be popular.
Having an all-female government is a recipe for complete and utter chaos.
This council in particular presents a dreadful specter for St. Paul, not only because these are all women, but also because they are all under 40. Both problems are compounded by the clear mission of the council members and the media to frame their tenure as a “multicultural” victory.
I’ll explain.
